The B’s: Jonathon & Caela
Our Story
We are the B’s: Caela and Jonathon Buchholtz. We live on our family farm in Olympia, Washington. My family has lived on this farm for 70+ years, and it really is the best place to raise a family and our fur babies. I (Caela) grew up in The Columbia River Gorge in the mountains with a bunch of dogs and a gaggle of siblings. Growing up, I loved playing with my dogs and watching the deer and birds have babies in the woods outside our house. Growing up, I would come to my dad’s family farm in Olympia, Washington, all the time and would play with all the baby animals, ride horses, and love life at the farm.
My aunt Trisha and her husband Rod lived on part of the family farm, and they had kids my age, so it was a great place for us cousins to get into farm shenanigans, find barn kittens, and play with puppies on the farm. Over the years, Trisha started to raise beautiful Doodles and established a reputable breeding program. She was very sought after for her sweet puppies. I spent a lot of time watching, being around the farm, and seeing all the ins and outs of raising the puppies.
A little while back, sadly, my Grandma Dunagan passed away. She lived right next door to Trisha, and with that came some changes. Trisha and Rod, after much careful thoughts and planning, moved to Florida to be closer to their many kids and grandkids who live on the East Coast. And with that, me and my husband Jonathon took on Rod and Trisha’s part of the farm. Trisha has been the most amazing mentor and has taught, and continues to teach, me all there is to know about raising happy, healthy Doodles.

Life on the Farm
Jonathon grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and has lived all over the PNW. He’s a flight instructor, and you can find him out in the yard playing with our daughter Lillebee, training the dogs, gardening, and, of course, out flying an airplane. Always down for a challenge and never even batting an eye at my crazy ideas, he is an amazing partner, parent, and a huge dog person.
We are loving life on the ole homestead, and we love all our dogs. I never thought I’d live on the family farm, but it has been the most amazing decision we’ve ever made. Raising animals has always been a huge passion of mine, and I love all my chickens, cats, ducks, and, of course, our dogs. We pride ourselves in raising our puppies with evidence-based methods and going above and beyond to take the best care of our dogs and puppies.
