Our Guardian Program

Putting our dogs first, to give you the happiest, healthiest puppy.

We strongly believe in providing excellent care for not just our puppies, but also our mama dogs.

One of the ways we sustainably breed our dogs and take care of their unique needs is through our Guardian Program.

(We do have some Guardianship opportunities available scroll to view.)

How it works.

We care for our mama and papa dogs the same way we expect you to care for your puppy. They are a part of our family, we have raised them from puppies, and we give them the training, attention, and care they require and deserve.

And with that it is more sustainable to not raise all of our mama dogs on our farm, because each dogs needs a lot of attention, and they deserve to get it. We partner with select families to train, raise, and love on our mama dogs for the dog’s entire life.

We select our Guardian Dogs with the same rigorous screening as all our other dogs. But we place them free of charge with a caring and qualified family that partners with us during the course of the dogs breeding years (which is only 2-4 years) and they keep them as part of their family for the dog’s entire life. In addition we provide cash compensation to our gaurdian families for each litter as well as paying for spaying and breeding related vet expenses.

Our Guardian families are amazing and they help make this whole thing as sustainable and ethical as possible.

What it takes to be a Gaurdian Family.

  • Must live within 2 hours of Olympia Washington.

  • Must be comfortable being separated from mom dog during breeding and whelping periods. **Breeding ~1 week. Whelping/weaning up to ~8 weeks (~1 week prior to due date until puppies are weaned).**

  • Must have no plans to move within 2-3 years out of radius at the time of adopting our gaurdian dog.

  • Must be responsive in all communication with breeder.

  • Must inform Evergreen Valley PNW Doodles as soon as signs of heat present.

  • Must have a fenced yard or ability to keep dog on leash outside to prevent unwanted breeding.

  • Must not have any non-fixed pets living in home during the time the mom is fulfilling her breeding contract.

  • Must provide critical proper nutrition as recommended by breeder prior to completion of contract.

  • Must be committed to providing breed proper care for the life of the dog: Grooming (every 8 weeks either by self or groomer), socialization, exercise, maintain medications on schedule (flee, tick, dewormer, heart worm, vet advised vaccine/boosters) and veterinary care as needed for the life of the pet.

  • Must understand duration of Guardianship. We will wait till the second or third heat to breed 1.5 to 2 years old and will breed the next consecutive 4-5 heat cycles which are typically 6 months apart. Gaurdian dog will be with us on the farm for around 4-5 months a year for 2-3 years while dog is being bred. Typical retirement age is 5 years old.
