Our Aussiedoodles

What is a Aussiedoodle?

Aussiedoodle is a highly intelligent, cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. They are known for being affectionate, energetic, and trainable. They requiring significant training as they can get bored due to being highly intelligent. They usually have wavy to curly coats, which are low to non-shedding.

What do the Generations Mean?

The “F” stands for “filial” and is simply a way to denote generation. So an F1 Bernedoodle means “First Generation” and so on. Each generation offers unique qualities for Doodle owners.

What Generation of Bernedoodles do we breed?

We currently breed mini F1B Aussieoodles which are a 25%75% cross of the two Breeds. We Breed F1B Poodle Dominant (75%Poodle 25% Australian Shepherd).

How Big Does a Ausiedoodle Get?

An Aussiedoodle can range any where from 15lbs to 100lbs+ depending what genetics are at play.

We breed Mini Aussie doodles, and they range from 20-30lbs. A nice small to midsize dog big enough for hiking and adventures, but small enough to pick up and have on your lap.

Coat & Colors

The Aussie is known for its coat, and there is lot to learn. If you are considering owning a Bernedoodle you will need to know about the coat types and grooming.

  • An F1B Aussie doodle typically has Wavy to vey curly hair .

Most F1B Aussiedoodle will have the curly hair coat which is a non-shedding hair type. Some will be more wavy and may have ild shedding.

Most people with allergies are ok with this hair type. Aussiedoodles with a more curly coat like the poodle will not shed.

The straighter the hair the less intensive grooming and maintenance it will need and the more it will shed.

The more curly the less it will shed and be more allergy friendly, but it will require more grooming and brushing.

All coat types can be wonderful options for different reasons. Let us know what matches your lifestyle and we can match you with your perfect aussie doodle.

  • The coloring of every Aussiedoodle is totally unique and we encourage you to not settle on a coat color until you come to pick your puppy, personality should always be your first determiner when picking a puppy.

    Our Aussie doodles can be.

-Merle with and without a mask-

-Red with and without a mask

-Tan with and without a mask

-Black with and without a mask -

-Brown with and without a mask-

-White with and without a mask-

    -Eye colors

    -Brown

    -Blue

    -Green

    -Multicolored, different in each eye.

typically each litter will have a variety of colors so we recommend waiting to meet the puppies before deciding which puppy you will get.

  • They shed very little to not at all which is wonderful for allergies or being indoors. But their coat is considered high maintenance so you will need to invest in grooming tools and find a good groomer.

    We recommend

    -Brushing every other day.

-Bathing once every 3 weeks or monthly (Curly haired dogs need their natural oils do not over bath them.

-Haircuts 2-6 times a year. Find a good groomer who has experience with Doodles and they will help you with caring for your Bernedoodle’s unique coat.

You can learn more about care and products we recommend here.

  • F1B Aussie doodles can be a good choice for those with very MILD allergies. Since they are a 25/75 cross, some shedding is to be expected. Most F1B Aussiedoodles will be very low shedding while others may shed moderately or not at all. If you are unsure how your allergies will be with a Aussiedoodle we recommend spending some time with a Aussie doodle to see how you react.

If you want a more Super-low/Non Shedding Doodle we would recommend an F1B

No dog or animal is truly hypoallergenic. However a Poodle or a curly haired Doodle is about as close as you can get, but that is only in regards to the hair. If you have allergies to saliva and other characteristics it will likely be the same as other dog breeds. We cannot guarantee how your unique body will react to our Aussiedoodles coats. We strive to honestly portray our dogs for the wonderful animals they actually are.
