What is a Goldendoodle?
A Goldendoodle is an intentional cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. They have a wonderful variety of traits that they inherit from both of their parents. They are very sought after for their smart, friendly, playful personalities and their beautiful low shedding coats. Known for being happy, friendly, and intelligent, Goldendoodles are easy to train. They're also very gentle and devoted to their families.
What do the Generations Mean?
The “F” stands for “filial” and is simply a way to denote generation. So an F1 Goldendoodle means “First Generation” and so on. Each generation offers unique qualities for Doodle owners.
What Generation of Goldendoodles do we breed?
We currently breed Standard F1 and F1B Goldendoodles. An F1 is a 50/50 mix and has a wonderful variety of traits from both their parents with either straight, wavy, or curly hair with a low-shedding coat.
An F1B is 25% Golden Retriver and 75% Poodle; it will still have much of the personality of the Golden Retriever but with a more consistent curly coat like a Poodle they have super-low to non-shedding hair.
We love both, each offering unique characteristics, that can fit a variety of preferences.
How Big Does a Goldendoodle Get?
Standard F1 and F1B Goldendoodles are typically 50-75 lbs
but occasionally up to 90 lbs. Typically the males are bigger than the females. Females 50-60 /Males 65-80
They are loved for being active, affectionate, super smart, and very friendly.
If you want an active, loving, intelligent dog a Goldendoodle might be a great choice for you. We love our Doodles so do our clients.
Do You Breed Minis?
We breed Standard and Mediums sized Goldendoodles. And in 2025 will be breeding mini Goldendoodles.
Coat & Colors
The Goldendoodle is known for its coat, and there is lot to learn. If you are considering owning a Goldendoodle you will need to know about the coat types and grooming.

An F1 Goldendoodle can have Straight, Wavy or Curly Hair
Most F1 Goldendoodles have the wavy hair coat which is a low to non-shedding hair type. They inherit this from the Poodle Parent. Poodles or curly haired Doodles hair does not fall out on its own like fur, it must be brushed out or cut.
An F1B will have curly hair very similar to a poodle, they are non-shedding.Most people with dog fur allergies are ok with the curly hair type.
Goldendoodles with a more curly coat like the poodle will not shed. However dog allergies vary greatly and if you are allergic to saliva or other characteristics it will likely be the same as other dogs. For dog fur sensitivities an F1B is the best option.
The straighter the hair the less intensive grooming and maintenance it will need and the more it will shed.
The more curly the less it will shed and be more allergy friendly, but it will require more grooming and brushing.

The coloring of every Goldendoodle can be many different colors and we encourage you to not settle on a coat color until you come to pick your puppy, personality should always be your first determiner when picking a puppy.

With the genetics of our parent dogs our litters could potentially have almost any color of coat it’s up to nature to decide.

They shed very little to not at all which is wonderful for allergies or being indoors. But their coat is considered high maintenance so you will need to invest in grooming tools and find a good groomer.
We recommend
-Brushing every other day.
-Bathing once every 3 weeks or monthly (Curly haired dogs need their natural oils do not over bath them.
-Haircuts 2-6 times a year. Find a good groomer who has experience with Doodles and they will help you with caring for your Goldendoodle’s unique coat.

F1B Goldendoodles will not shed like a Poodle and are the best option for those who are wanting a dog that does not shed at all or who have allergies to dog fur. Poodle or Curly Doodle hair is NOT hypoallergenic but is as close as it gets. Many of our clients have had great success with Doodles and allergies.
F1 Goldendoodles can sometimes be a good choice for those with very MILD allergies. Since they are a 50/50 cross, some shedding is to be expected. Most F1 Goldendoodles will be low shedding while others may shed moderately or not at all. If you are unsure how your allergies will be with a Goldendoodle we recommend spending some time with a Goldendoodle to see how you react.
No dog or animal is truly hypoallergenic. However a Poodle or a curly haired Doodle is about as close as you can get, but that is only in regards to the hair. If you have allergies to saliva and other characteristics it will likely be the same as other dog breeds. We cannot guarantee how your unique body will react to our Goldendoodles coats. We strive to honestly portray our dogs for the wonderful animals they actually are.
Personality Traits
Goldendoodles are highly affectionate and love being around their human families, especially kids. They love attention and love to please their owners. Many Goldendoodles are trained to become therapy dogs and it’s no surprise: they are highly intelligent, friendly, and love to serve.
They are active and will love to join you on a run or hike. They love to make friends and be with their families, they make great house dogs and family dogs. They are quite athletic and love to play and run around. They are wonderful adventure buddies as well as snuggle buddies.
Every dog will have its pros and cons, here we have some for you to review before you decide if a Goldendoodle is right for you.
Do your research, ask advice, seek multiple sources for information and make an educated decision.

* Separation Anxiety
Goldendoodles are highly social and affectionate, they do not do well being left alone for long periods of time. You will need to train them to prevent them from forming separation anxiety. Thankfully there is training you can do to prevent and treat this issue.
* Grooming
Their stunning coat comes at a price you will need to have it regularly groomed and this can be costly. Make sure you are either prepared to learn to groom your dog yourself or pay for a quality groomer on a regular basis. You will also need to brush their coat often to prevent matting and hot spots.
* Needs Larger Space
Standard Goldendoodle are decently big dogs, they need to space to run around. It is possible to happily own a Goldendoodle in an apartment, though we don’t recommend it. You will need to devote a lot of time to exercising your dog, and keeping their mind stimulated so they don’t get bored and into trouble.
* High Cost
They are big investment of money and time. They are a highly desirable designer breed and will require a big initial investment as well as continual cost of grooming, food, and supplies.

They have a Smart, sweet, curios, friendly temperament and are very loving.
* Family Dog
They are wonderful with kids.
* Allergy Friendly Qualities
Low to non-shedding which can be a huge win for allergy sufferers or owners who do not like being covered in pet hair.
* Intelligent
The Poodle is the second smartest breed of dog and the Goldenretriever is the fourth smartest dog. Together you will have a very smart dog.
* Love For The Outdoors and Water
The Poodle was originally bred as a water dog, and the Golden Retriever to retriever waterfowl. They are strong, love to play, love to swim, and love the outdoors.
* Beautiful Colored Coats

* Life Span
The Goldendoodle has a lifespan of 12-15+ years.
